I'll be home from the Bahamas tonight, which apparently is a great thing, as the forecast for the coming week shows thunderstorms from Hurricane Berthas perifery coming out this way....

Ducks - Picked up Brendan Morrison, the latest, and seemingly soundest, attempt to fill the second line center void created when Andy McDonald was shipped for cap space to make room for Niedermayer's return mid season last year. Burke's got a history w/ Morrison, having been with Vancouver during his best years there. LEt's hope the new knee is as sound as they're saying, as he could be a great pickup. Gotta be better than Bertuzzi and Weight, in terms of second chance career restarts. Burke and Kevine Lowe, publicly feuding since Lowe's acquisition of Dustin PEnner via offer sheets last off season, we both told to put the whole feud under wraps and knock it off by the league.

Angels - - Two in a row to Texas, the latest with K-Rod giving up a run then a 9th inning game winning 2 run homer to Josh Hamilton, a league leader in RBI's with near 70 coming into last nights game.

LEt's hope this is just a blip.

Also, GMJr is sitting, apparently, while he deals w/ his "Recent" offensive struggles. and by recent, I mean, season long.

There are some rumored trades in discussion, most notably MAtt Holiday of Colorado, but these trades would undoubtedly require a young Halo starter, who the Angels are understandably unwilling to move. We'll see what happens.
