Will Teemu Selanne play in 2012?

Whoa, Ducks ....Win?

Anaheim, CA - The Ducks took an early two goal lead on the defending champion Detroit Red Wings in Game 3 at home and looked on pace to take the game comfortably.

They controlled the play.

They held the blue line.

They even outshot the Wings over the first period.

Then all hell broke loose.

Hockey is a sport unlike many others when it comes to momentum.

A quick fight, a big hit, a goal, a great save, an injury, whatever.

A wicked shot by Pavel Datsyuk hit Anaheims James Wisniewski in the chest. Seconds later, as Wisniewski stood in a haze, Tomas Holmstrom gave him a shot to the jaw with an elbow. On the ensuing rush, the Ducks suffered a penalty to Scott Niedermayer.

The play looked like this:

Sadly, he was carted off, and all information is that he's being evaluated. Our sincerest hope for a speedy recovery to the Anaheim defender, and his family.

ANYWAY...

That turned to table.

The Wings smelled blood.

The rest of the way, they controlled play, significantly. Big cycles, huge shots, great play in the neutral zone, and then this:

Whoa.

That was probably a legit goal, but they say you make your own bounces in this game, and as a Ducks fan, I'll take it.

heheh.

whew.

Whatever it was? We'll take it.

Ducks lead the series 2-1, and Thursday should be a helluva barn burner.
