Ducks Add D Nick Boynton

Anaheim Ducks GM Bob Murray continued his romp through free-agency, adding veteren Defenceman Nick Boynton to the Ducks on a one year contract.

This isn't a HUGE move, price wise, or name wise, but it does bring in some veteren D to add to the recently weakened blue-line depth since the departure of Francois Beauchemin and trade of Chris Pronger.


He should provide some good stay at home defence with some potential on the rush, with 5 goals and 16 assists in 68 games last season for the Panthers. He is a career +15 skater.

As far as I'm concerned now, the Ducks have most of their pieces together for next season - - with the exception of not having re-signed RFA James Wisniewski yet.

Let's go, Mr. Murray. Lock him up and we're ready to rock!
